The Combilift company was founded by two great engineers, Martin McVicar and Robert Moffett. Between them, they had over four decades of experience in engineering when they founded the business during 1998 in Monaghan, Ireland. In just more than ten years, Combilift became a leader in the worldwide long-load handling market, delivering machines to over 50 markets worldwide. Supported by a trusted international network of distributors which have helped expand distribution into many markets all around the world and using their extensive knowledge and experience, Moffett and McVicar have created machinery that are in high demand and had sold 10,000 units by mid 2009.
Below is a summary of a few of the Combilift models.
C-Series Combilifts are available in an array of mast options. Lift heights up to nine meters and lift capacities up to 25,000 kilograms are available. Engines are available in electric or battery, LPG or gas and diesel and the C-Series Combilifts could operate within 210 centimetres wide guided aisles.
Combilift Straddle Carriers offer the ability to move oversized, heavy loads such as fully loaded containers that weigh as much as 35 tons. These loads could be transported all around a work site or facility and the Combilift Straddle Carrier can raise fully loaded containers where needed, whether it be from the ground to the trailer, from trailer to trailer or from the trailer to the ground. These kinds of machines are a cost-effective, effective solution for numerous haulage, shipping, and distribution businesses, even those with low throughput levels.
The SL-Series is much different from other side-loaders due to its ability to drive in four directions. This multi-directional steering is available with the cab on the right or on the left. This all-wheel drive, hydrostatic forklift can help companies in many ways, one of which is to allow facilities to have narrower aisles. It also allows the capability to block or bilk stack by driving forward. This extremely manoeuvrable truck is normally considered to be a better option as opposed to numerous regular sit-down sideloaders because of the various extra features and capabilities.
