A kind of equipment in the material handling industry that could be utilized to raise and transport loads from one place to another is called a forklift. Each and every component of a forklift has a particular function. Various components could be utilized to transport the load either horizontally or vertically.
Mast
The parts utilized to lower and lift the load is known as the forklift mast. There are various kinds of masts for raising loads to different heights: triplex, quad, simplex and duplex.
Power Supply
There are four different ways you could power a forklift: gas, electric, propane and diesel. The battery is located in the cab underneath the seat. The propane tank is on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is underneath the rear of the truck.
Cab
Located in the middle of the truck is the forklift cab. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The gas pedal, steering wheel, tilting controls, brake and lifting controls are all situated within the cab.
Frame
The truck frame carries all the largest parts of the forklift, including the counterweights, that are situated at the back to prevent the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame includes the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the axles, wheels and driveshaft.
