TCM Lifts Alaska

There are two basic types of forklifts, units that run on gas and models which run on electricity:

Internal Combustion or IC Lift trucks: The IC Forklifts run on gas, liquid propane, CNG or compressed natural gas or diesel. The gas powered units are meant to be utilized outside as they produce pollutants and gases that could be dangerous if inhaled. Gas models are also suitable for application in bad weather and in the rain. These units can carry weights about 15,000 to 35,000 pounds. Because of the fuel costs and maintenance, models which run on gas are much more costly to use compared to the electric models, however, they cost a lot less up front compared to the electric models. Models that run on liquid propane are the right choice for safe use in indoor applications.

Electric Lift Trucks: The electric lift truck models are powered by really huge batteries that should be recharged. The machines do not produce any polluting air emissions like these models do not burn any fuel. They are the right option for indoor use and warehouses. As well, forklifts which run on electricity are a lot quieter to run than other units and they do not need any fuel storage units. Amongst the downsides of the electric units is that they are unable to lift cargo over 15,000 pounds and hence, have a slower acceleration compared to gasoline powered units.

Forklifts are particularly designed to quickly and easily move heavy loads with simplicity. As the case with nearly all types of machinery, unfortunately, forklift accidents do happen regularly. There are some safety regulations which must be followed in order to keep everybody safe. The most essential problem is recruiting a qualified operator, who can show you a valid lift truck license.

On the market today, there are numerous different styles of lift trucks available. Choosing which one is right for your specific requirements would be based on the type of environment your equipment will have to operate in, like for example, outdoors or indoors or both and what kinds of loads that you need to transport. Once you know your specific needs, it would be really easy to match up to the right type of lift truck. When you know your requirements exactly you could make the best decision.

Leasing is another good way to check out different units if you want to check out various features and see what type of options are available. This is a cheaper way to determine if the type of equipment you have chosen could keep up with you on the job site.
