Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescoping booms lifts are designed to mount a work bucket on a straight, extendable arm which is situated on a rotating turntable. Usually, telescoping boom lifts are utilized for jobs that require reaching at maximum height, exceeding other kinds of lifts. For instance, workers could perform exterior renovations or repairs on medium sized buildings but utilizing these lifts instead of having the extra work of setting up a pulley system or an outside elevator.

Scissor Lifts
Scissor lifts are named for the cross-braces below the work platform. These braces squeeze together to be able to push the platform straight up. Because these units should be directly positioned beneath the work site, as opposed to boom lifts, these units are way more limited in their use.
Scissor lifts do, however, provide bigger platforms that allow the operator controlling the lift to access a bigger work surface when the lift is raised. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of an issue with these models, because they have to sit on flat ground in order to be utilized. Scissor lifts are ideal for being used for window installation or cladding, because they provide the employees with the desired mobility; they are also a great choice for window cleaning applications or exterior repairs.
Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
The boom truck or cherry picker refers to the utility vehicle normally used to lift personnel for various jobs done at heights. Usually, these trucks have a cab. It is here where the operator sits and operates the machine. There is a bucket for where the employee can stand in addition to a winch for carrying and an actuator arm for raising the boom.
Boom trucks take employees to heights which would usually be inaccessible. The function of cranes is to raise heavy materials or equipment from one location to another. There are a variety of different crane types which could perform a variety of purposes. Both of these different kinds of equipment excel at different tasks and are suitable for specific applications and completing certain tasks.
