Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is designed for lowering and lifting loaded pallets from high storage spaces. This particular type is recommended for work places with narrow spaces between aisles, like for instance warehouses or retail environments. The forklift has solid rubber, small tires that make maneuvering very easy.
The operator of this kind of forklift normally stands up within a small cockpit. The stand-up design allows the narrow aisle forklift to be as short and narrow as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift usually has three tires: one in the back, and two in the front. This configuration enables for easy and fast maneuvering. There are several models of these forklifts which are available with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment can pivot to the sides, permitting the lift to be operated without the operator having to reposition the whole equipment. The sit-down model usually has four wheels.
Many narrow aisle forklifts are powered with an electric engine. Machines which are electrically powered are not noisy and do not produce exhaust fumes, making them the preferred alternative for closed places like for example retail spaces. Some lifts come with a gas engine or a diesel engine. Then again, the diesel model is not recommended for indoor use as it could be noisy and produce exhaust.
