Inventor Jerome Case established the company of CASE within Racine, when he started the construction of threshing machinery. Later the business gained recognition internationally as the initial maker of steam engines for its agricultural application. By 1912, Case had become established within the construction equipment business. The rapidly started to produce road building machinery like steam rollers and graders. Case grew their construction machinery company through different acquisitions, beginning with the American Tractor Corporation during the year 1957. Case had expanded their business by the mid-1990s to become the leading producer of light-sized to medium-sized construction equipment.
In 1999, Case merged with New Holland to become CNH Global. This corporation became responsible for advertising some of the top brands of construction and agricultural machines in the world.
