Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic forklift models are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck providing versatility and great height. The arm, or crane, is called a telescopic boom. The boom enables the individual using it to maintain a high degree of control while raising the cargo to great heights. Regular forklifts can not move the load towards and away from the forklift cab, whereas a telescopic forklift can allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is usually utilized in construction and agriculture. It is better for applications where greater control and lift is required.
In cases requiring high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments known as forklift carton clamp attachments are better. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings that allow the operator to use uniform clamping force when picking up a cargo. It is available with a backrest that protects the cargo from damage.
A sleep sheet lift truck would normally use a slip sheet attachment for storing systems which don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This kind of system is useful for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A lift platform that is designed to lift employees is called a Man Basket. It attaches to the forklift forks and a chain or strap is utilized to attach the basket to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the employees from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are utilized for fastening the safety harness of the worker.
