Operator Environment
Operators have an efficient and safe place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The specific design of the cab comes as a result of extensive research into the operators working conditions. The most important objective is to offer optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and huge glass areas unobstructed to keep the field of vision clear. The ergonomically designed instrument panel is extremely comfortable and gently rounded. This particular area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all essential information, so as to keep the operator functioning as effectively as he or she could.
Due to the insulated mounting to the chassis, vibration levels and overall noise levels are kept low. The hydraulic controls and the operators' seat are all independently adjustable to be able to maintain an optimum working position. Additionally, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for maximum comfort. There are 2 easy to operate, ergonomically positioned multi-functioned levers that are provided for windscreen wipers, gear changing, the window washers and horn.
To ensure a comfortable cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit provides incoming air that is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The machinery has a robust 3-speed fan for heating, cooling, defrosting and recirculation. As an extra option, air conditioning could be fitted.
Instrumentation
In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units which are all within easy reach. Basic instrumentation includes: low brake pressure, high coolant temperature, warning lamps, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, applied parking brake and high gearbox oil temperature. Moreover, gauges display values for fuel quantity, operating time, gearbox oil pressure and engine coolant.
Amongst the key options the 8 to 10 tonne trucks can be outfitted with is the ECS or Electronic Control System monitoring. This enables for easy supervision of the model. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS or Electronic Control System and incorporated by this system. The single warning lamp and the full text display show any faults which happen and their current values.
