The Carriage
Like standard forklifts, the lifting attachment can be tilted from its horizontal position to forwards and backwards. The actual possible amount of tilt completely exceeds that of vertical mast forklifts. There are various kinds of available lifting attachments, and this ability to position makes them as effective as possible.
Most telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position that is actually parallel to the ground. Some models have rotating carriages too. This enables the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted backwards and forwards, and side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity rather similar to that of the vertical mast model. The unit's overall capacity will be dependent on things such as: the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable and boom extension and angle, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires. Additionally, which lifting attachment plays an main role, as does the wind, the grade the equipment is operating on etc. All of these specifics can be changing constantly and this gives the operator a lot more information to consider.
Most of the time, telehandlers have some load charts available in order for the operator to reference so they can know the load capacity of a particular lift. Depending on the configuration of the boom and the unit in particular, the load capacity could differ by thousands of pounds all together.
